Urban Quantitative Research Methods

This course introduces students to the fundamentals of quantitative research methods and data analysis in the context of urban education. It reviews the scientific method, theory and models, measurement, sampling, experiments, observational studies, and the logic of causal inference. Primarily, this course will rely on multivariate regression as a tool for data analysis and a framework for exploring and answering substantive questions about the unique social, economic, and demographic processes that shape educational opportunities and outcomes in our urban communities.
