Rowan University's CCNE accredited Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program was established to meet the need for trained professional health care leaders. The following two tracks are available within the Rowan MSN program: Clinical Nurse Leader and Nurse Practitioner.
Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL)
The Clinical Nurse Leader track provides Registered Nurses in the greater Philadelphia tri-state area with the skills to assume leadership roles in their respective organizations. Our program was designed according to the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) definition of the Clinical Nurse Leader as someone who oversees the care coordination of a distinct group of patients and actively provides direct patient care in complex situations. Also, according to the AACN, the CNL is a leader in the health care delivery system who evaluates patient outcomes, assesses cohort risk, and has the decision-making authority to change care plans when necessary. The Rowan MSN – Clinical Nurse Leader program is ideal for registered nurses hoping to assume this role.
The Rowan University Master of Science in Nursing is a part-time program offered in a hybrid format with a combination of fully online courses, face to face classes, and clinical experiences. The track consists of 36 semester hours (s.h.). At the completion of the MSN CNL track, the graduate will have completed a minimum of 400 clinical hours.
