B.A. in Disaster Preparedness & Emergency Mgmt at Camden
The B.A. in Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management is an interdisciplinary academic program that provides rigorous academic preparation for students seeking advanced professional education in this growing field. The program is designed to include homeland security education and training for a career in international, national, state, and local disaster preparedness, emergency management, and safety areas with an emphasis on urban environments. In addition to providing students with a broad understanding of safety and security issues, the Rowan University Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management degree program focuses on several vital components of the emergency management field:

Disaster Preparedness and Response
Intelligence Sharing and Analysis
The B.A. in Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management program will prepare you to establish or grow your career in a variety of industries and settings that focus on emergency rescue and response including: homeland security, hospitals, municipal emergency management, county emergency management, safety management, intelligence analysis, private security, airports, state and local law enforcement, federal law enforcement, customs investigators, special agents, military service and border security and patrol.
Rowan University requires the completion of 120 semester hours (30 s.h. must be at Rowan University) of approved general education and major coursework in order to graduate with a bachelor’s degree. The B.A. Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management degree completion program is a full-time program offered on the Rowan University Camden Campus only, that provides students with 30 of the required semester hours in the major. Students must also choose and complete coursework in one of the following focus areas (9 s.h.):
Focus Area 1: Public Administration and Policy for Crisis Decision Leadership
Focus Area 2: Justice, Safety and Homeland Security Administration
Focus Area 3: Emergency Health Preparedness and Biomedical Safety (offered in conjunction with the Cooper Medical School of Rowan University

The following is a list of items required to begin the application process for the program. There may be additional action or materials required for admission to the program. Upon receipt of the materials below a representative from the Rowan Global Admissions Processing Office will contact you with confirmation or indicating any missing items.
Official transcripts from all colleges attended (regardless of number of credits earned)
Associate’s Degree or 24 semester hours of transferable college credits
Minimum undergraduate cumulative GPA of 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale)

All of the required materials listed above must be received on or before the application completion deadline for your desired entry term to be considered for admission to that term. Tuition & Costs
Per Semester Hour
Students enrolled in 13 or more semester hours will pay a flat rate of $5,806.63. Students enrolled in 18 or more semester hours will pay $378.50 per semester hour in addition to the flat rate.
