Reading Writing Literacy Certificate of Graduate Study
This interdisciplinary certificate is designed for K–12 teachers seeking to increase knowledge in literacy instruction. It offers a strong pedagogical and theoretical core, including courses from the Colleges of Education and Communication and can apply toward advanced degrees in either College. The Reading/Writing Literacy Certificate of Graduate Study program also trains practitioners in the area of Reading/Writing Literacy and prepares teachers for National Board Certification.

The following is a list of items required to begin the application process for the program. There may be additional action or materials required for admission to the program. Upon receipt of the materials below a representative from the Rowan Global Admissions Processing Office will contact you with confirmation or indicating any missing items.
Bachelor's degree (or its equivalent) from an accredited institution of higher learning
Official transcripts from all colleges attended (regardless of number of credits earned)
Current professional resume that clearly indicates the number of years you have been teaching
Typewritten statement of professional objectives
Provide reasons for pursuing the program. Describe how you might use this program to advance your career (educational goals beyond the master's level, if applicable, are also relevant).
Two letters of recommendation
Letters of recommendation should be from professional administrators and include information, which attests to applicant's ability to pursue a graduate degree
Standard NJ instructional certification
The applicant must provide proof of appropriate certification as well as a letter of employment confirming the specific dates (not just years) during which the applicant has taught or served the educational community under the appropriate certificate.

All of the required materials listed above must be received on or before the application completion deadline for your desired entry term to be considered for admission to that term.
