All students enrolled in summer courses have access to Rowan University resources and state of the art facilities. Rowan University provides a wonderful atmosphere to learn and grow, and is located in a community that supports students with the resources they expect.
Current Rowan undergraduate and graduate students interested in registering for a winter or summer course should contact their advisor to ensure appropriate progress toward meeting degree requirements. Please note that advising organization can vary during the summer sessions. If you are uncertain who your academic advisor is, you can simply contact the University Advising Center (UAC) at 856-256-4459 or firstname.lastname@example.org and they can provide you with information.
Early academic advising is available for new students who are unsure of their major or who wish to get an early start with summer coursework. The University Advising Center (UAC) offers a range of services for those students who have yet to declare a major or who need to connect with an advisor during the summer or winter term. It is highly recommended that all incoming freshman and transfer students speak with an advisor before enrolling in a winter or summer session course.
If you are currently enrolled in another college or university and would like to take courses at Rowan University over the winter or summer, please be sure to consult with the Registrar of your primary college/university for their policies on transferring credits.
Also, we suggest you sit down with your program advisor to make sure any courses you take at Rowan will satisfy the requirements you need at your home institution.
Rowan University wants you to be prepared for the professional world. The Career Management Center is dedicated to helping Rowan Students gain employment through a variety of resources. The Career Management Center provides career advising, information about internships and work study, résumé critique, cover letter design, mock interviewing, and hosts a number of career fairs.
Tutoring Services & Academic Support
Rowan University is committed to your academic success. If any student would like help with coursework, time management, or accommodations, the Academic Success Center is here to help. Within the Academic Success Center one can find resources for tutoring, testing, academic coaching, Veterans Affairs, and Disability Resources. Students needing to complete a placement test should contact the Academic Success Center. There is also the Writing Center at Rowan University which provides writing assistance to any student for any class.
If you are a current student living in apartment-style housing, you may be able to stay in your current home for FREE during the Winter Session! Click here for details. Housing during Winter Session is only available to these current students.
Housing is available for current, new, and visiting students in the Summer term! Students must be enrolled in a Summer course or working for Rowan University during the Summer term in order to be eligible. The Dining Services Staff at Rowan University, located in the Student Center, offers dining options for students enrolled in winter or summer courses. The Student Center also includes the Owl's Nest, a restaurant for faculty, staff, and students as well as "ROGO," which features pre-made to-go items (i.e., salads, sandwiches) and some pantry essentials.

All students taking winter or summer courses throughout any of the on-campus sessions will need a permit in order to park on-campus. With fewer students on campus, parking close to class locations is virtually assured. For more information on purchasing a permit, please visit the Office of Public Safety.
Campus Points of Interest
Following are details about various areas in and around campus that will make your experience taking winter or summer classes at Rowan an even more fulfilling one.
Keep in mind, while online courses during winter have no breaks, the Rowan University campuses are typically closed for the break. Not all of the offices below will be open, even outside of those dates, so check hours before-hand.
Access to some of these facilities will also require The RowanCard. The RowanCard is the official photo identification of the University. Among other things, RowanCard holders are entitled to Rec Center access and Campbell Library borrowing privileges. Registered students must visit the Information Desk, located on the main floor of the Student Center to get their picture taken and pick up their RowanCard.
Rowan University's six-story Campbell Library is the largest library in Southern New Jersey and houses more than 350,000 books, documents and multimedia materials. The library also provides on-line access to book, periodical and selected newspaper holdings as well as interlibrary loan. In addition, the library holds a computer lab, several meeting rooms, many work and study areas, and several lounges.
The Barnes & Noble at Rowan University is only the second collegiate superstore in the state. It offers not only a wide selection of consumer products – newspapers, magazines, books, music and gifts – but serves as the official Rowan University bookstore. Rowan also has a Recreation Center that is open seven days a week. This state-of-the art health club is a 92,000 square foot facility featuring a three-court gymnasium, indoor track, 25-yard pool, four racquetball courts, a cycling room, a group exercise studio, fitness and free weight room areas, full locker/shower facilities, and a juice/smoothie bar.
There are almost thirty fully equipped computer labs on-campus. Recent campus improvements include the construction of the Science Hall, James Hall and the Samuel H. The Chamberlain Student Center on campus provides a place for students to gather, relax, and enjoy dining opportunities. Here you will find the campus ATM machine, relaxing couches, meeting rooms, activities, student organizations, campus dining facilities, RowanCard, and the student information desk.
